Leonid Grigoriev
Leonid Grigoriev is president of the Institute of Energy and Finance, a research advisory firm in Moscow. He served as deputy minister of finance during the administration of the late president Boris Yeltsin, and prior to that as Advisor to the executive director of the World Bank. He was then director general of the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and president of the Association of the Independent Center of Economic Analysis, which unites more than 50 Russian research institutions. Dr. Grigoriev holds an M.S. and Ph.D. from Moscow State University, and serves as dean of the Management Department at the International University of Moscow. He has written more than 20 books.

Vyacheslav Nikonov
Vyacheslav Nikonov is president of the Polity Foundation, a Moscow think tank he established in 1993. It coordinates the work of politicians, academics and businesspeople, to encourage domestic political and economic reform. He was a key advisor to the late president Boris Yeltsin; a member of the president’s chief of staff; and a member of former president Mikhail Gorbachev’s reform team. From 1992-1994, he was a senior fellow of the Reforma Foundation, and from 1994-1996, a member of the State Duma. He was also chief political advisor to Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov and to former Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov. He was a professor of political science at the California Institute of Technology, and dean of history and political science at the International University in Moscow. After receiving an M.A. in history from the University of Moscow, he earned two doctorates there, in 1982 and 1989. He has published five books, and numerous articles.
