Murat Ucer
Murat Ucer is an independent economist, serving as the local Turkish advisor to the Global Source Partners, and is co-founder of Turkey Data Monitor, a firm that provides macroeconomic database and training services on the Turkish economy. He was a senior economist at the Institute of International Finance, where he covered several emerging market economies, including Turkey, Poland, Egypt, and Iran. As Credit Suisse’s senior economist from 1998-1999, he provided the bank with macroeconomic research and sovereign risk analysis on Turkey and the Middle East. He worked at the IMF from 1991-1998. Dr. Ucer has served as an advisor to the minister of economy, to the governor of the Central Bank of Turkey, and to the CEO of Yapi Kredi Bank. He received his B.A. in economics from Bogazici University, and his Ph.D. from Boston College. He has taught at Suffolk University and Bogazici University, and is now an adjunct professor at Koc University. He is author of a monograph on the 2001 Turkish financial crisis, and has published several policy papers.

Atilla Yesilada
Atilla Yesilada is an independent political analyst, serving as the local Turkish political advisor to the Global Source Partners, and is the host of several financial news programs on Turkish TV. Dr. Yesilada was research director for Eczacibasi Securities, and in 1997 was named to Institutional Investor’s “All-Europe Research Team.” He also served as research director at Global Securities, and at Egebank. Dr. Yesilada received his B.A. in business administration from Eastern Illinois University. He also holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and Rensselear Polytechnic University, respectively. While pursuing his studies in the United States, Dr. Yesilada taught economics and finance in various universities. He also held a research fellowship at the New York-based think tank “The Jerome Levy Institute,” where he specialized in studying banking crises.
