Rolando Guzman
Rolando Guzmán is Executive Director of Grupo Consultoria Pareto, an economic consulting firm based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Dr. Guzmán is also Professor of Economics at the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). Dr. Guzmán has served as an outside consultant for the World Bank, IADB, ECLAC and other multilateral institutions. He was recently commissioned by the World Bank to advise the Dominican Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development in the preparation of the country’s 2008-2030 Development Strategy. From 2000-2004, Dr. Guzmán served as Director of Strategic Planning and Market Intelligence of Verizon Dominicana. Prior to that, he served as Director of the Economic Research department of the Dominican National Planning Office and served as Economic Advisor to the Planning Ministry. Dr. Guzmán received his PhD in Economics and Masters in Mathematics from the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Quantitative Economics from the Universidade Federal do rio Grando do Sul and Fundacion Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and received his undergraduate in economics from the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD).

Apolinar Veloz
Apolinar Veloz is Associate Partner of Grupo Consultoria Pareto, an economic consulting firm based in Santo Domingo, Dominican republic. Mr. Veloz is also Professor of Economics at the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). Mr. Veloz previously served as Vice-Minister of Finance and as General Manager of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic. He has also served as Economic Advisor of the Ministry of Commerce, as Economic Advisor to the Dominican Senate, and as an outside consultant for various multilateral institutions. Mr. Veloz received his Masters in Economics and International Politics from the Centro de Investigación y Docencias Económicas (CIDE) in Mexico City. He also has two post-graduate degrees from the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). Mr. Veloz did his Undergraduate studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD).
