Caucasus and Central Asia: Geoeconomic reshuffling in the South Caucasus

The 3rd Karabakh war has reshuffled the deck of winners and losers in the region. Armenia is still enjoying double-digit GDP growth rates, but Yerevan’s fortunes have now changed given the outcome of the war. On the other hand, Azerbaijan may be enjoying the spoils of victory, but its economy has had little to celebrate so far. Finally, Georgia may benefit as an active bystander in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.
