After contamination, Bolsonaro tries to build a narrative

After confirming his coronavirus contamination, President Jair Bolsonaro has started to create a narrative that could mobilize his supporters. Yesterday, Bolsonaro posted a video on social media in which he takes a hydroxychloroquine pill, stating that he feels “very well” after three doses of the drug.

The president also surprised observers by acknowledging the social distancing measures adopted by governors and mayors. According to Jair Bolsonaro, “All the isolation measures adopted by governors and mayors have always aimed at delaying contagion while hospitals were preparing to receive respirators and ICU beds." He said that the federal government has contributed “all the necessary resources and means” for the pandemic to be contained.
