An eventful day in yesterday's Covid CPI testimony, and Administrative Reform to be analyzed in committee

The COVID Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) in the Senate had one of its most eventful days yet yesterday. During former Secretary of Government Communication Fábio Wajngarten’s testimony, Senator Renan Calheiros, rapporteur of the CPI, asked that he be arrested. However, the president of the CPI, Senator Omar Aziz, decided not to follow through with the request.

The plenary of the Senate is expected to vote on a bill that prohibits price increases of medications during the National Public Health Emergency. The Constitution and Justice Committee in the House is expected to analyze Deputy Darci de Matos’ report on the Administrative Reform proposal. The House will also continue to vote on the environmental licensing bill today.
