Media focus on Covid CPI testimony, and the Lower House to vote on important bills

​The media should closely cover the president of the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) Antônio Barra Torres’ testimony in the COVID Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) today. The focus will be on his differences with President Bolsonaro, especially when it comes to vaccines, chloroquine and social distancing measures. Today, the CPI is expected to hear former Secretary of Government Communication Fábio Wajngarten’s testimony. Recently, he gave an interview in which he talked about the government’s incompetence in the handling of the coronavirus pandemic and the Ministry of Health’s delay in the purchasing of vaccines.

The Lower House should have a busy day today. Three important bills should be voted on: the bill that proposes faster processing times of bills in the House, the bill that deals with environmental licensing and the bill on photovoltaic energy.
