Apple fined USD 12 million by Moscow

On April 28 the IT company was fined in a case where Kaspersky was the plaintiff. Kaspersky is a Russian cybersecurity company.Apple was declared to have exploited its market dominance in the manner in which it distributed mobile apps on the iOS operating system. This led to an unfair advantage for its products. This market distortion caused poorer distribution for its competitors. The Federal Antimonopoly Service found against Apple. The FAS ruled that Apple had unfairly circumvented Kaspersky from starting an update on its SafeKids parents' control app. Apple launched Screen Time, which was its version of SafeKids.Apple claims that the allegations are bogus. Apple took some parental control apps off the App Store on the grounds that they jeopardized privacy and security due to using very invasive tech. Apple has been obliged to delete a term that entitled the company to reject apps from its App Store for any reason.The enforcement of the FAS orders has been postponed, pending an appeal by Apple.
