Armenia-Azerbaijan ceasefire fails

On October 28 both countries have accused each other of numerous ceasefire violations and killing dozens of civilians. Iran had sent more troops to its border with the two countries. The Iranians are officially neutral but lean towards Armenia.Azerbaijani military equipment is mostly a generation ahead of Armenia's, Azerbaijani's Army has gained ground since September. The president is finding it hard to persuade his troops to stop fighting as they sense they have a growing advantage.Russia's efforts to induce the two countries to halt all acts of war have failed even though the fighting is not as intense as it was. The presence of hundreds of Turkish military advisers and thousands of Syrian and Libyan militants in Azerbaijan alarms Russia.
