Aug 27 Legal suite: The court in Kazakhstan allowed Ukrainian Naftogaz to appeal the cancellation of the decision to recover $1.4 bln from Gazprom. Aug 28 KMG: The company will place "Dimsum" bonds worth CNY 3.5 bln in early September. Energy ministry: Oil production has been restored in Kazakhstan after a decline due to attacks on CPC. Parliament: Mr. Dadebay, the leader of the Adilet party, which won the elections, has been elected Speaker of Kazakhstan’s new unicameral parliament (Kurultai). Aug 31 National pipeline company: KazTransOil net profit under IFRS increased by 33.4% y-o-y in 1H26. President: Mr. Tokayev proposed to the parliament that Mr. Bektenov retain the post of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. Kurultai approved his candidacy. President: Mr. Tokayev proposed to the parliament Mr. Karin for the position of Vice-president, which was approved. President: Mr. Tokayev said Russia will remain Kazakhstan’s main investment and trade partner. Sep 1 National railways: In August, Kazakhstan increased grain exports by rail by 35% y-o-y. President: Mr. Tokayev proposed locating the headquarters of the Development Bank of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Kazakhstan. President: Mr. Tokayev proposed creating a network of artificial intelligence centres under the auspices of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, involving universities, research institutions and technology companies from member states. Bureau of National Statistics: Inflation in Kazakhstan slowed to 9.8% y-o-y in August from 10.2% y-o-y in July.
