Nov 15 KMG: The company and Uzbekneftegaz (Uzbekistan) signed an agreement on the Zharkyn oil exploration project in Mangystau region. President: Kazakhstan intends to increase the volume of transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan. Nov 16 President: Mr. Tokayev welcomes Azerbaijan's accession to regular consultative meetings of the heads of state of Central Asia, and considers such partnership to strengthen stability in the region. President: Mr. Tokayev proposed to elaborate a comprehensive strategy for the development of the transport system in Central Asia. He also suggested combining efforts to attract advanced technologies for the extraction and processing of rare earth metals. Nov 17 Sanctions: OFAC has issued a license authorizing transactions for the provision of services related to the sanctioned Russian companies LUKOIL and Rosneft in oil and gas projects of CPC, Karachagansk and Tengiz fields. President: Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan plan to jointly implement seven projects totaling $1.2 bln in industry (including petrochemical segment), construction, finance, logistics and tourism.
