This week will continue to reflect the trial of former President Jair Bolsonaro, with his allies pushing for a vote on the amnesty bill. The government, meanwhile, is trying to include in Congress’s agenda an income tax exemption for individuals earning up to R$5,000 per month. In the Senate, the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) may vote on the bill creating the Tax Reform Management Committee. The Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) meets to decide the benchmark interest rate. The Quaest/Genial polls will be released on Wednesday (government approval ratings) and Thursday (the 2026 election).
