Centrist parties approach Flavio Bolsonaro’s candidacy with caution, the House president will meet with the Tax Reform rapporteur, and two major tax benefits bills are being considered in the Lower House
When Flavio Bolsonaro announced his candidacy on Friday, the market reacted sharply and negatively. But there is resistance within the political arena, as well. Yesterday, Flavio scheduled a meeting with leaders from Centrist parties, but some chose not to attend. Today, the President of the Lower House, Congressman Hugo Motta (Republicanos–PB), and party leaders meet with Congressman Mauro Benevides (PDT–CE), the rapporteur for the bill creating the Governing Committee for the Goods and Services Tax (which regulates the Tax Reform). Regarding the Lower House agenda, Congressman Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP–PB) has been designated rapporteur for the bill that cuts tax benefits by 10% (PLP 128/25). Currently, two bills on the subject are moving through the chamber.
