Congress completed yesterday the approval of the 2026 Budget Guidelines Bill (PLDO), which now includes a schedule for the payment of parliamentary amendments — a key demand from lawmakers ahead of next year’s elections. In the Lower House, President Hugo Motta (Republicanos–PB) is expected to meet next week with Congressman Mauro Benevides (PDT–CE) to discuss the vote on the bill creating the governing committee for the Tax Reform. In the Judiciary, attention turns to the impeachment procedure for Supreme Federal Court justices. Justice Gilmar Mendes issued a monocratic ruling stating that only the Prosecutor General may file charges against a Supreme Court justice.
