* Russia: The economy is growing slowly but several worries remain.

* Local semi-lockdowns in Russia have slowed the resurgence of the pandemic but there is no sense that full lockdown will be reintroduced.

* Azerbaijan and Armenia fought for two weeks, and at least 400 people were killed. There is a ceasefire but peace is far from secure.

* In Belarus the president seems to have a firmer grip than before and has released a few political prisoners but protests are ongoing.

* In Kyrgyzstan rigged elections led to mass protests and demonstrators' freeing ex-president Atambayev from jail.
