Flights to Turkey severely limited

On April 12 Moscow seriously restricted flights to Turkey. Over 500,000 Russians are seeking a refund. Flights to Turkey will be severely limited April 14 to June 1. That is because of an increasing number of coronavirus cases in Turkey. Flights to Tanzania have been temporarily banned.On April 13 the Russian Tourism Association said that the flight restrictions cost the industry over USD 400,000. Turkey is Russia's most popular tourist destination. Over 3 million Russians visit it in a typical year. The Russian domestic tourist sector is elated. They expected another bumper year in summer of 2021. If people cannot go to Turkey, they will vacation at home.The President of Ukraine visited on April 10. Arms sales were discussed. It is speculated that Russia's limitation on flights to Turkey is a means of penalizing the Turks for hosting Zelensky.
