​Former Minister of Health Mandetta’s testimony in the Covid CPI had a large impact in the media

​Former Minister of Health Luiz Henrique Mandetta’s testimony in the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) had a large impact in the media. Today’s newspapers feature quotes from his testimony criticizing both the government and President Jair Bolsonaro, who, according to Mandetta, went against his science-based advice. Mandetta also criticized the Minister of the Economy, Paulo Guedes, who he said did not take the appropriate measures against the pandemic and did not maintain an adequate level of dialogue with the Ministry of Health.

The President of the House, Arthur Lira, decided to disband the Tax Reform Committee and analyze the proposal directly in the plenary. Several important bills are currently in the Lower House, including the bill on tolls and the implementation of the “free flow” system.
