Greater restriction on mobility to stop the advance of the third wave of COVID-19

With the advance towards a third wave of Covid-19, yesterday the Government imposed stricter measures to restrict mobility and distancing. During the week of June 2 to June 9, in the National District and in 24 provinces circulation will be restricted from 6:00 pm. at 5:00 am from Monday to Friday and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 am during the weekend. In the remaining 6 provinces, where there has been greater control of the Covid and which includes three of the main tourist provinces, the restriction of movement will be on a shorter schedule. Among the other measures taken are: closure of binational markets, operation at 50% capacity of restaurants, sports clubs, churches and prohibition of mass events. The advance in the third wave of Covid-19 occurs despite the country having 4,214,163 vaccinated people (3,171,332 have the first dose and 1,041,831 completed the second dose). The country has a population of approximately 10 million. The COVID-19 situation has worsened due to the presence in the national territory of new strains of COVID, including variants from Brazil and the United Kingdom.
