Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Dias Toffoli has scheduled a conciliation hearing for today to address compensation for retirees and pensioners who were victims of fraudulent membership-related deductions from their INSS benefits. Today, Finance Minister Fernando Haddad and Health Minister Alexandre Padilha will hold a joint press conference to announce a new debt-for-service program under Brazil’s public healthcare system (SUS). The program will allow private and philanthropic hospitals to provide specialized care to SUS patients in exchange for tax debt relief. The Ministry of Mines and Energy is expected to announce tomorrow (June 25) an increase in the required blend of anhydrous ethanol in gasoline from 27% to 30%, and of biodiesel in diesel from 14% to 15%.
