On November 3 the members of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) met in Astana. It marked the 10th anniversary of the OTS. The presidents of its members attended.  The Kazakh president stated the 8 pillars for his chairmanship of the OTS in 2024. He seeks deeper cooperation. There is talk of more mutual investment. But the OTS is an organization without common goals. It has no security identity or economic aspect. However, Tokayev wants to have a common market. One of the few concrete proposals is to standardize terminology and information sharing on financial crime. OTS GDP is is USD 1.4 trillion. Trade between OTS members was only USD 22 billion in 2022. Tokayev says this can be increased 1.5 times. He wants to expand the OTS Secretariat. He suggested an election observation unit. He also wants OTS to be an observer in other organization. But non-interference in domestic affairs is also an OTS principle.  Tokayev suggested USD 1 million aid to Palestine.
