The Georgian Government announced on 27 September that they are appointing KPMG to audit the National Bank of Georgia. Georgia is eager to achieve a reputation for fiscal probity. This will make it easier to obtain loans. Tblisi has also spoken about developing itself as a financial services centre. This is a small country without any natural resources. The labour costs are very low. The government has been zealous in promoting English language education. Financial services is one possible growth area for the economy.
