Lagarde is positive about next wire for Ukraine

Today the IMF Managing Director Cristine Lagarde met President Petro Poroshenko in Davos, reported Interfax-Ukraine news agency. Ms. Lagarde said to journalists that Ukraine and the IMF are finalizing the remaining technical details to provide the next tranche. Our sources in the Cabinet and the Central bank confirm that consultations are on the final stage and we should expect the IMF Executive Board to consider Ukrainian issue in early February. The size of next wire is not clear but we expect it to be not less than $1.0 billion. Important, the wire will have calming effect on internal FX market which recently has been quite volatile after Privatbank nationalization and after excessive public spending at the end of 2016.
