President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is expected this week to issue a provisional measure creating a subsidy for imported diesel in an effort to mitigate price increases amid the conflict between the United States and Iran. The Executive Branch may also send Congress a bill proposing the elimination of the 6x1 work schedule. Similar proposals are already under consideration. The President of the Lower House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), has stated that the intention is to bring the matter to a vote in May. This week, the Organized Crime Parliamentary Inquiry Committee is expected to hear from Central Bank President Gabriel Galípolo as well as former Central Bank President Roberto Campos Neto.
