In another move aimed at boosting his popularity, President Lula yesterday launched the Desenrola Adimplentes program during an event at the Presidential Palace. The initiative will offer loans with monthly interest rates of 1.99% to informal workers who are current on their debts. Today, Lula will launch the 2026/27 Harvest Plan (Plano Safra), which will make R$525.1 billion available in financing for medium-sized and large agricultural producers. The amount is a record and represents a 1.7% increase over the previous crop season's R$516.2 billion. The Senate may vote today on Provisional Measure (MP) No. 1,343/26, which strengthens enforcement of Brazil's minimum freight rate policy for road cargo transportation.
