President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) signed a new provisional measure (MP) on Wednesday (July 22) aimed at the Brasil Soberano Program. The measure is expected to provide R$18.5 billion for the investment and trade support initiative’s third phase. Meanwhile, Flávio Bolsonaro’s (PL) presidential campaign continues to face a series of negative headlines. According to the news outlet Metrópoles, the law firm owned by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), the party’s presidential frontrunner, issued three invoices totaling R$1.5 million to a company allegedly used as a front by former banker Daniel Vorcaro. Another source of friction came from former Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro. In a video, he argued that former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL), by publicly exposing disagreements within both the Bolsonaro family and the PL, had demonstrated political “immaturity.”
