The President of the Lower House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos–PB), announced yesterday that Federal Deputy Leo Prates (Republicanos–BA) will serve as rapporteur of the special committee reviewing the proposed constitutional amendment (PEC) that would end the 6x1 work schedule. The Senate’s Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJ) will hold a confirmation hearing today for the Attorney General of the Union, Jorge Messias, who has been nominated to the Supreme Federal Court (STF). Today, the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) will decide on the benchmark interest rate, currently set at 14.75% per year. The expectation is for a reduction of the Selic rate to 14.50%.
