Nagorno Karabakh peace deal seems to be working

On September 23 the Armenian Forces in the region said they were implementing the terms of the ceasefire. Injured civilians are being evacuated to Armenia. Russian peacekeepers are assisting, and so is the Red Cross. The Armenian forces are handing over their arms to Russian peacekeepers. Aid is being delivered to Nagorno Karabakh in return for Armenian forces' disarming. The Lachin Corridor was the road between Nagorno Karabakh and proper Armenia. The Lachin Corridor was blocked since June 2023 by Azerbaijan. Work is being done to bring back electricity. Negotiations about Nagorno Karabakh are ongoing. 120,000 people live there. Red Cross trucks have been allowed into Nagorno Karabakh since September 23. 70 tonnes of food, fuel and blankets are being provided. There is a US Congressional Delegation in Armenia to observe the situation. There is small but influential American-Armenian community.  Baku wants Armenian fighters to give up their arms, and they will then be pardoned. It wants Armenian civilians there to accept that they are Azerbaijani citizens.  Some Armenians are against the peace deal. They think they should fight on and the government is cowardly.  On September 23 the US expressed its support for Armenian territorial integrity. But Nagorno Karabakh is recognized by the US as Azerbaijani. The US says Armenians in the region must have their rights respected.
