Negotiations failed. Party of war wins. Escalation is ahead.

Today, Andrey Kluyev, the Head of National Security and Defense Council was appointed Head of President Office. Mr. Kluyev, according to media reports, is suspected to be the one who coordinated all crackdowns and provocations against protesters. After yesterdays’ fail of negotiations with Yanukovitch and loud claim of opposition that they leave negotiation process (on demand of protesters), the ‘party of war’ in Yanukovitch surrounding has strengthened its position. Put it different, Kluyev obtained more authorities to fix the problem which means that confrontation will continue escalating over the near future. Against the backdrop of rioting regions (over the last two days protesters of almost all western regions captured local state administrations) Yanukovitch is gathering around himself the most dedicated people and pulls to Kyiv reserves of police forces. More serve clashes are expected over the upcoming days.
