New Russian pipeline to cross Mongolia

On July 19 the Prime Minister of Mongolia said that the natural gas pipeline will go to China. It is the Power of Siberia 2 Pipeline. Russian gas that used to be sold to the EU is being redirected to China. The pipeline is projected to be completed in 2030. It is doubtful that it will be completed on time. The EU wants to phase out all Russian gas by 2030. Construction is due to commence in 2024. Gazprom is behind it. It will be 2 600 km long. Its capacity shall be 50 billion cubic meters.  A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 2019 about the pipeline.
