Yesterday, the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), met with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad (PT), to discuss the payroll tax exemption. The meeting ended without a solution to the issue. Yesterday, Lula met with the president of Paraguay, Santiago Peña. They discussed the tariffs charged for energy produced at the Itaipu Binacional plant. The meeting ended without a clear definition of the terms of a possible new agreement, but Lula indicated that new meetings will be held. On today's agenda, it is worth highlighting the participation of the Ministers of Health, Nísia Trindade; Environment, Marina Silva (Rede); and Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira (PSD), at the World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland. They will attend the panel “The sustainable transformation of Brazil”.
