Today is the second-to-last day for political parties to hold their national conventions. Negotiations are expected to intensify over the next two days. Senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) said yesterday that she still believes there is a possibility of being chosen as the vice-presidential running mate on Flávio Bolsonaro’s ticket. The Federal Police (PF) has asked the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to open a third investigation involving businessman Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as “Lulinha”. Today also marks the first day of the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) meeting to decide Brazil’s benchmark interest rate. The committee’s decision will be announced tomorrow.
