The Constitution and Justice Committee of the Lower House approved the admissibility of the Pension Reform proposal. There were 31 votes in favor of the admissibility and 20 against. The score was a bit more balanced than the Federal Spending Amendment, which passed by 33-18.

The matter will now be examined by a Special Committee. The government and the opposition agreed to create the committee in February, after the election for the leadership positions in the Lower House.

Not all congressional representatives who were present for the Federal Spending Amendment were present at the Pensions Reform vote. Of the congressional representatives that voted on both proposals, only two changed their vote and voted against Pensions Reform: Esperidião Amim (PP-SC) and Marcos Rogério (DEM-RO).

The nine PMDB congressional representatives present at the vote voted with the government, supporting the proposal. In the PSDB, seven. In governing coalition parties, there was dissidence in the PR (2 of 4), PP (1 of 4), PSB (1 of 2), DEM (1 of 4) and PDT (3 of 3).
