PF operation hits Bolsonaro allies and keeps the political climate tense

Today the Federal Police (PF) conducted search and seizure operations within the scope of the “fake news inquiry”. The measures were authorized by Minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes.

According to Moraes, the investigations showed that a group produced and disseminated false information, always with the same pattern. At least four individuals who provided funding from that group were identified. The targets were allies of President Jair Bolsonaro.

The investigation adds yet another component to the already turbulent relation between the Planalto Palace and the Supreme Court, which should keep the temperature of the political climate in the country very high.
