Economic growth continues but at a slower pace, according to the Monthly Index Economic Activity (IMAE), which grew 3.8% in August and experienced a 4.0% increase during the first eight months of the year compared with 2014. Transportation, financial intermediation and construction are the sectors influencing this evolution the most. Electricity, gas and water; mining, and hotels and restaurants also registered positive results. On the other hand, the manufacturing industry and commerce, which represent about 23% of GDP, experienced a decrease. We stick to our 5.9% GDP forecast for the year, with typical differences between a handful of dynamic sectors and laggard agriculture and manufacturing activity.
