Political update– September 18, 2026: Netanyahu bloc improves, but no clear path to 61
Recent polls show a modest improvement in Netanyahu’s bloc, but neither side currently has a clear path to a 61-seat majority. The shift reflects both a more efficient distribution of votes within the right-wing bloc and some movement at the margins between the two blocs. Winter appears to be attracting support not only from Likud and other right-wing parties, but also from voters who had previously considered Bennett or Lieberman.
At the same time, Eisenkot continues to face significant constraints in forming a viable coalition without some form of Arab-party support. Overall, the latest polls point to a modest shift in the bloc balance, but not yet to a decisive change in the broader political picture.
