Polls point to stability for Bolsonaro

The DataPoder360 poll found that the negative (bad/very bad) assessment of the Jair Bolsonaro government dropped by two points (48% to 46%), a number that is within the margin of error. Positive evaluations (excellent/good), in turn, remained stable at 29%, as did “regular” evaluations (20%). When looking at sampling by income, it is possible to see a trend of improvement in the popularity of President Jair Bolsonaro. The increase in positive assessments is not only occurring among those receiving emergency aid, but also in income groups that are not benefiting from the measure.

What may help explain the recovery in Jair Bolsonaro´s popularity in the higher-income sectors is the change in attitude adopted by the president. Since the arrest of Fabrício Queiroz, a former aide to Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicanos-RJ), the president has become less combative, strengthened ties with the center parties and reduced tension in his relationship with the Supreme Court (STF).
