President of the Republic Tamás Sulyok received the heads of the three parties elected to the new parliament separately yesterday. Following the meetings, he announced that the new parliament may be convened first in early May, and at that meeting, he will nominate Péter Magyar for prime minister.It has been announced that Foreign Affairs Minister Szijjártó will not participate in next week's Foreign Affairs Council meeting of the EU, and PM Orbán will not appear either at the subsequent informal EU Council summit meeting.A mission from the EU Commission is set to arrive at Budapest tomorrow, to start negotiations with the upcoming new Tisza government, mainly on the reforms required for the release of the currently blocked EU funds originally earmarked for Hungary.András Kármán, Tisza's candidate for finance minister met MNB Governor Varga yesterday. After the meeting, he posted: 'We agreed that setting a target for euro introduction will have numerous favourable impacts on the Hungarian economy, it will help reduce interest rates, lower inflation expectations and reduce the volatility of the exchange rate.' He also said that talks are starting with the EU to unblock funds to Hungary, and having a two-third majority in parliament will likely secure rapid progress in that area.Previously, Mr. Magyar said that so far as the MNB fulfils its constitutional obligations, he sees no point in initiating the removal of Governor Varga from his position.At present, Tisza stands at having 137 parliamentary seats against 56 seats held by Fidesz and 6 seats held by Mi Hazánk.
