President Lula confirmed in a speech at the Planalto Palace that former Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Ricardo Lewandowski will be the new Minister of Justice and Public Security. He is expected to take office on February 1. State finance secretariats have already established, within the scope of the National Finance Policy Council (CONFAZ), 21 working subgroups to prepare drafts that will be sent as a proposal to the Ministry of Finance. Next week will also be marked by the World Economic Forum in Davos. The Brazilian government's delegation will be small, as neither President Lula nor Finance Minister Fernando Haddad are expected to attend.
