President Lula's (PT) veto of a significant portion of congressional funds was poorly received among deputies and senators, and now negotiations for changes to the budget are a priority for the Planalto Palace. It is worth remembering that many congress members were counting on the funds to deliver key projects in their electoral strongholds. On Monday, January 29, a meeting is scheduled between Arthur Lira (PP-AL) and the leaders of the House to discuss the cut in funds. After a week marked by strikes, there may be some developments next week. On Thursday and Friday, February 1 and 2, the Ministry of Management will meet with representatives of environmental positions.
