Russia and Erdogan talk in Turkey

President Erdogan is hosting delegations from the two countries. Erdogan said it is vital that the two sides make progress. Turkey has cordial relations with Russia despite being a NATO country and an ally of Azerbaijan which is a foe of Armenia (a Russian ally). Turkey has sold bayraktar drones to Ukraine. The Turks have warm relations with Ukraine.Ankara is keen to bring peace. Turkey relies on over a million tourists from Russia a year. The terrible economic situation in Russia will hit Turkey hard.The Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich turned up at the peace talks. There was a rumor that he was non-fatally poisoned. Moscow said this is a lie. Abramovoch has had his soccer club Chelsea confiscated by the UK. Like most oligarchs he is keen for peace because he is losing so much financially.
