Russia brags about unbeatable weapons

On July 11 Russia showed its new Sukhoi jet. The warplane can hit six targets simultaneously. It is Russia's answer to the F-35. The Sukhoi jet was shown at Russia's biennial airshow. The jet was developed in 2020. Its development was unusually fast. The manufacturers are Rostec and the United Aircraft Corporation.As of 2026 the plane will be sold to other countries It is expected that 300 will be ordered over the next 15 years. Countries in the Middle East, Asia and Latin America will be the likely customers. It is a 5th generation single engine fighter and it has AI. It can hit targets in the air, sea and land and can fend off electronic interference. Russia claims the plane can cope with 6th generation systems.The plane costs over USD 25million which is cheap by world standards. It can carry drones and launch them in midair. Russia is also working on an autopilot version of the plane. Putin lauded the aeronautical industry when he visited the airshow. The president has spent heavily on upgrading the armed forces. Russia is proud of its Sarmat intercontinental missiles and its Burvestnik cruise missiles. Russia has a new hypersonic weapon launched from a ship - Tsirkon. It can maneuver when flying which makes it much trickier to shoot down.Hypersonic missiles is one of the few areas where Russia is ahead. Putin has been keen to emphasize Russia's prowess in this regard. The US, China and France are all trying to catch up. Some experts believe that the US will catch up soon.NATO reacted strongly to the Tsirkon tests in July 2021. NATO said these raised tensions.
