Russia expels Czech diplomats

On April 19 Moscow expelled 20 Czech diplomats in reprisal for the Czechs' expelling 18 Russian diplomats. It is notable that the Russians expelled more people than the Czechs did. The Czech Embassy in Moscow now has so few diplomats that is almost unmanageable. The Czechs also have two consulates outside Moscow.Prague called on NATO and EU countries to expel more Russian diplomats in solidarity. The Czechs recall the Salisbury affair in 2018, when the United Kingdom expelled some Russian diplomats and most EU and NATO countries did likewise. The two Salisbury suspects are also suspected by the Czechs of being behind an explosion at a warehouse in the Czech Republic in 2014. The warehouse was owned by Emilian Grebev who sold arms to Russia's foes. Grebev was later poisoned in Bulgaria.Prague also announced that Rosatom will be excluded from a tender to construct a new nuclear power station. The Czechs are also mulling whether to stop purchasing Sputnik V.
