Russia: GDP growth slowed down to 2.1% in 4Q-12

Rosstat, a statistical agency, reported GDP figures for 4Q-12 in its second estimate. Russian economy slowed down to 2.1% y-o-y in 4Q-12 (compared to 3.0% in 3Q-12), according to the figures that were published today. Household consumption that expanded 5.8% y-o-y in stays the major contributor to economic growth in the country. Growth rates of fixed investments more than halved (+3.0% vs +6.9% a quarter earlier) which was expected based on monthly data. The data confirms of overall slowdown in Russian economy after pre-election boost in early 2012.
