Russia performs nuclear drills near Poland

On May 4 Russia carried out the simulated nuclear missile attack in Kaliningrad. This is 10 weeks to the day the Ukraine War began. Russia is dropping hints that it is willing to use tactical nuclear weapons. The exercise was an electronic launch of nuclear capable mobile ballistic missile systems. The test proved that Russia can strike military bases. A Russian Army press release said the unit practiced how to cope with radiation and chemical contamination. Moscow said that nuclear silos have been opened. Moscow is angry with Poland. Poland has been the most vociferous pro-Kyiv state in the EU.A Russian TV host showed his audience what a nuclear weapons strike on the Irish Coast would do. This is despite the Republic of Ireland not being a NATO member.There is speculation that Russia might declare war on Ukraine in May, on Victory Day. There are other rumors that Putin might say the war is over on May 9 since most of Donbas has been conquered. But there is no hard evidence either way.13 million of Ukraine's 43 million people have been displaced.
