Russia slams US aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan

On April 20 the US House of Representatives passed a military aid package for the 3 countries. This includes USD 61 billion for Ukraine. The aid packages needs to pass the Senate, which is almost certain to happen. Biden has vowed to sign the bill as soon as it is passed. The bill has been delayed since December 2023. A high majority of Democrats voted for the aid package. A slight majority of Republicans voted against. The Speaker of the House Mike Johnson changed his mind and voted for it. He is a Republican. The Russian Foreign Ministry said this will aggravate tensions, and in the case of Ukraine, is funding for terrorist activity. Moscow says Taiwan is a province of China and US aid to Taiwan is meddling in Chinese internal affairs. Putin's spokesman said that the aid to Ukraine will simply lead to more Ukrainian deaths while making money for the US.  On April 20 Niger ended a security pact with the US. The United States said it shall withdraw its troops from the African country. Niger is forging an alliance with Russia. In April 2024 Russian arms and mercenaries started to arrive in the country. Russia already has agreements with Mali and Burkina Faso.
