Russian car sales down

On January 15 statistics released by the Association of European Businesses (AEB) revealed that car sales in Russia fell by 2.3%. This is despite modest economic growth. Only 1.76 million automobiles were sold in a country with over 140 million people. AEB forecast that sales will decline a further 2% in 2020. This is an indicator of pessimism.Sales of Ford dropped in Russia by a whopping 57% on 2017. Ford therefore closed in Russia. AvotVaz (which makes Lada) is one of the only manufacturer to buck the trend rising by 1%. Its sales are up. It has a 20% market share. It is at the bottom end of the price range. The Granta model is Russia's most popular car. Sales of Granta are up by 27%!
