Russian oil sales to US overtake Saudi's

On March 24 Bloomberg noted that in 2020 Russian oil shipments to the United States outstripped Saudi sales for the first time.US oil purchases from Russia make a mockery of US concern about the EU buying too much gas from Russia.Russia is now the third biggest oil exporter to the US. Russian oil made up 6.85% of US imports. Russia sold an avergae of 538 000 b p d. That is 5% of Russia's oil output.US refineries bought more Russian oil after sanctions on Venezuela. Saudi export cuts led the US to seek oil elsewhere.Saudi will probably increase production in mid 2021. That will hit Russian oil exports.
