Russian soccer to restart

The Russian Premier League will open its season on June 21. This will be a major morale booster for a soccer obsessed nation. Spectators will not be permitted to attend games. Social distancing can be observed among players since they seldom come within 2 meters of each other. Athletic young men are among the least susceptible to coronavirus.There are eight more rounds of matches that can be played in the season. Football clubs had been losing over USD 2 million per day due to a lack of income. Clubs still had to pay salaries and maintain facilities.Teams have started training together already. Some coaches and players from abroad left the country just as coronavirus was becoming serious. They now have to be readmitted to the country.On May 16 Germany is reopening soccer league.
