Same old, same old

Thanks to her “politically correct” stance on the war, Turkey had just started working on her terrible image, but new allegations of narco-trafficking, inmate maltreatment and human rights violations have now cropped up. While the veracity and impact of these on diplomatic relations require further scrutiny, it is fairly clear that converting diplomatic goodwill to swords and ploughshares will have to be deferred.

At home, the Erdogan administration pays lip service to lightening the economic burden of people, but whiles away with frivolous legislation and self-defeating attempts to manage the economy. By repeatedly frustrating expectations of progress against poverty, the administration may be committing euthanasia in polls.
