Some thoughts on the macroeconomics of 2023
Our standard quarterly/forecast report would normally have reached your inboxes already, but because of the exceptionally fluid and uncertain context, politics in particular, we’ve been delaying it. Things are still extremely murky, but the economics author has nevertheless decided to think aloud on the Turkish macro outlook in this brief and largely qualitative note, promising a full report in traditional format for late February. The hope is that the political uncertainty will have eased somewhat by then, enabling us to develop a more concrete baseline scenario for 2023, and perhaps for 2024 as well.
